What does “isostatic bogie” mean?
The bogie has been designed and developed to allow free vertical movements to the coupled axles guaranteeing the maximum contact in any track conditions, avoiding even the smallest and imperceptible wheel detachment, first cause of derailment, especially in proximity of sloop changes and at the start of bends. This kind of contact is achieved thanks to the two metal sides connected to the centre of the bogie which are free to pivot in respect of the play and these rotation movements guarantee better contact between wheels and track in all possible conditions; moreover this solution allows to reduce the height of the wheel flange, assuring higher realism.
